Future Education in Action

In a world that is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA), students’ understanding of their own inner world is extremely important for them to navigate through the tides of change, explore their own pathways and achieve positive change to tackle the challenges in the future.

Nurturing students with compassion-based values is therefore fundamental in equipping them with inner capacity to recognize the interconnectedness and possibilities of the changing society. Through values-driven personal searching, deep dialogues and different exploratory opportunities, students’ wellbeing as well as positive attributes and compassion-based values would be able to be enhanced and developed. These are all crucial elements to enable the next generation to get ready to explore choices for their life and career.

Envisioned to build a compassionate society, The D. H. Chen Foundation (“the Foundation”) has initiated “Future Education in Action” (“the Program”), a program of co-creating an integrated curriculum with two partnering schools to provide diversified learning and authentic opportunities to nurture future-ready students with compassion values, essential future skills and competencies.

Through joint-school and customized workshops and training, the Program will also build teachers’ capacity and stimulate educators’ innovation, as well as facilitate engagement of different stakeholders and broaden community’s perspectives from Life Planning to Life Exploration Education.

Sharing the same mission and vision, a local nonprofit Ednovators, the Program’s Strategic Partner, as well as The Education University of Hong Kong as the Research Partner, are joining hands with the Foundation to develop a sustainable and holistic school-based approach on Life Exploration Education. With the implementation at the two partnering schools, Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing Secondary School and HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity, the Foundation hopes to create a collaborative platform for showcasing diverse excellence and unleash potential of our Hong Kong students.
